Bridesmaids dresses for Louise Bland
Louise commissioned me to make just one bridesmaids' dress for a bridesmaid (Lyanne) who lived locally to me but a long way from the dressmaker making the other dresses. I was supplied with a commercial pattern and the fabrics.
Louise decided to have her bridesmaids in slightly differing styles to suit their different figures (two had given birth within the last few months!) All the dresses had a-line calf length skirts and contrasting sashes with a rosette at centre back. Two bridesmaids had dresses with natural waistlines and the other two girls (including the one I worked on) had high waisted dresses with straps added. They were made from caf coloured silk dupion with cream silk sashes.
